Peat's Beast

The Nature of ‘The Beast’ –

Many will say it is a myth - an ancient fabrication. Since the mid-19th century, it has been resurrected and its appearance has caused fear in many Scottish villages. He wandered about windy moors. There he went hunting. On the hunt for the very best peat!

Peat's Beast is a single malt whiskey with as much peat as you can handle! No additives, coloring or "chill filtering".

Peat's Beast:

This single malt is un-chill-filtered and contains no additives or dyes. As the name suggests, it is a beast of a whiskey. A strong and daring body that immediately grabs you. The scent is a rough mix of sea, fire, smoke and damp earth with cinnamon. These are then softened slightly with the scent of apple, pear and freshly baked bread. This whiskey is full of the taste of thick tar, peat smoke but also liquorice. Truly a whiskey for the “peat” enthusiast.

Peat's Beast PX Cask:

A Peat's Beast who gets a 9 month “finish” on PX sherry casks. This combines the power of the Peat's Beast with the smoother and sweeter characteristics of sherry. This starts the aroma with powerful smoke, peat and seaweed that gradually turns into sweet, syrupy burnt sugar from the sherry cask. The taste also has the peppery, smoky, seaweed flavors known to peat’s beast, but wrapped in a sweet coating of dates, figs and raisins. The finish is extremely long.

Peat's Beast Batch Strength:

A cask strength at 52.1% of the Peat's Beast series. This whiskey certainly lives up to its name. The scent starts soft and delicate with honey, vanilla, cream, caramel and cinnamon. But then… Suddenly an explosion of campfire, sea air, cardamom and tar. The beast is awake! The taste starts intense. Strength is untamed and savage. Fortunately, this ferocity subsides and a warmth arises with notes of banana, thick syrup, mocha but also pineapple, ginger and cumin. A whiskey to remember.
